The Bridge.
At 110 metres in length the Buller Gorge Swingbridge is New Zealand's longest swingbridge.

At the Buller Gorge Swingbridge Adventure and Heritage Park you can take a few minutes or hours to explore nature and history on the many walks on the far side or get right into thrillseeking on the Comet Line (Flying Fox) or Supaman ride. The upper Gorge also provides one of the best Jet boat rides on the Gold Rush Jet.
Nature and History Walks.
To the Maori the Buller River is Kawatiri, deep and swift, a name that is both a reference and warning. Few people dared to travel down the Gorge until gold finally lured them here.
Today the bridge takes you safely across to a network of feature filled walking tracks to enjoy at your own pace with many information panels placed all around.
The 15 minute loop is a gently graded walk on the peninsula that crosses the White Creek Faultline, epicentre of the 1929 Murchison quake, where the ground was thrust up 4.5 metres (15 feet). There are a number of other walks leading off the loop, make your choice depending upon the available time.

Comet Line (Flying Fox).
Try a ride high above the river on the Comet Line. This 160 metre flying fox is suitable for the "young at heart" of all ages. Seated comfortably and safely strapped in you'll love the sensation.
Naturally the more weight on the ride the faster it goes, so take the ride with a friend. The Tandem Comet Line is a great way to experience the ride for couples or parents and children.
Gold Panning.
The land at the tip of White's peninsula has been a working gold claim for over 120 years. We provide expert tuition and with the dirt from our favourite spot you're bound to find some gold. Then head on down to the river and pan as long as you like - what ever you find you keep.
Gold Rush Jet.
The Upper Buller Gorge offers one of the premier jet boat runs in New Zealand.
Take a thrilling ride up to the Ariki Falls, then spin back down amongst the pink granite rocks of the gorge and beneath the swingbridge, then it's on to the earthquake rapids for a little whitewater excitement.

Continuing down the river participants can enjoy the beauty of the scenic reserve and marvel at the efforts of the early gold miners who tunnelled through solid rock to divert the mighty Buller.
