Wanaka

 Wanaka is one of New Zealand's most popular aquatic playgrounds and a well serviced town.

The fourth largest Lake in New Zealand Lake Wanaka is the 2nd largest of Otago's Lakes at 279m above sea level the Lake is 45km long and at it widest point a mere 5kms. Fed by mountain river and glacier the Lake itself feeds the Clutha River.

The township on the edge of the Lake is in goldrush territory and a district famed for its awesome scenic views, good fishing and hunting, scenic flights and jet boat adventures as well as being the point of entry to Mount Aspiring National Park.

Here you will find spectacular views of Mt Aspiring from Glendhu Bay along with numerous superb walks and trails around the Lake and National Parks pristine wilderness.
